So I wouldn't assume it's bone damage or anything (the tip of your pinky's bones are so fine that I would doubt it would be anything so much as that). (My sister's was due to a car accident the injury was too much to stitch and expect to heal on its own, so they opted to amputate from below the injury to let it heal cleaner). I assume Maomao had a very similar amputation. The tip of it, nail included, reminds me a bit more of a pinky toe than a nail (though it is only a tiny bit shorter than a standard pinky, of course!). It doesn't look quite like a standard fingernail, and it isn't in quite the right spot, and it is essentially growing out of scar tissue so it's a little strange to look at.but again, without looking specifically at her hand (even through once you notice it, it's quite obvious), you probably wouldn't think twice about it. As Maomao says it does grow back to a degree.without looking too specifically at her hand, you wouldn't quite realize that it is deformed.but it is almost a full fingernail's length shorter than it ought to be and, even though the amputation removed her fingernail entirely, now that we are years after it happening, she does have a bizarre little gnarled fingernail on that pinky. My sister had her pinky amputated in much the same location just past the third knuckle. We do not support self promotion, our subreddit is not your source of income.
